General tasks
FTTH roll out - Undertake the Installation and connection of Fibre works in accordance with specifications and standards as follows:
•Installation & connection of Passive Network Elements
oTermination of micro-duct in ODPs, OCABs and OHUBs
oTesting of micro-duct installations
•Installation of Fibre Works
oBlowing of EPFU (Enhanced Performance Fiber Units) micro-cable
oFusion Splicing
oTesting of Fiber Works

Priority will be given to candidates that are capable and willing to undertake the installations in Fix 1 as follows:
Installation of the Network Elements:
oInstallation of Duct Bundle - Aerial Fig-8
oInstallation of Duct Bundle in ducts in road & pavement
oInstallations of underground Tube Distribution Closure
oInstallations of OHUBs,
oInstallations of OCABs
oMounting of ODPs
Skills
•Must possess proven problem solving and critical thinking skills
•Language skills - ability to effectively read, write and speak fluently in English
•Must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds
•Able to use industry tools such as splicer, cleaver, tester and other precision tools
•Basic construction industry skill including ability to use power tools such as for drilling holes etc
•Ability to use a cherry picker and drive trucks

General Requirements
The technicians must have the necessary competences to work with minimum supervision in a team environment and able to handle multiple issues simultaneously with a positive attitude.
•A minimum of 3 year experience in the field
•Be in possession of a recognized technical qualification in telecommunications at EQF/ISCED L5 by an accredited school or in possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
•Language skills - ability to effectively read, write and speak fluently in English is a must
•Strong understanding of customer support / relations methods and ability to interact with tact with clients.
•Be in possession of a valid driving license
